How many times, when choosing a lettuce, carrot or artichoke from the boxes on the counter, have they softened in your hands? Did you then proceed to purchase? Certainly not.
Any fruit and vegetable displayed in the Shopping Center undergoes rapid deterioration due to lack of humidity, induced by the air conditioning and heating system. The environment has an average humidity equal to or less than 50% while vegetables, in order not to perish, need humidity higher than 75%. Up to now a coarse solution has been used which consists in wetting the products by spraying them with water in an approximate way. This is due to a second problem: the rotting of the product placed in the bottom of the exposure boxes. We can therefore deduce that low humidity and too much water are both limits to keeping the product in the right conditions. What’s the remedy? Each display of fruit and vegetables is different so the Neo Tech system will consist of a control unit with high pressure pump, polyamide or AISI304 steel pipes and high pressure nebulizer nozzles. The useful space to allow the correct evaporation without the effect being dispersed or, on the contrary, getting excessively wet, can vary between a distance of 50cm up to 150cm depending on the intermittence of the desired effect. The system is automatic and with a thermo-hygrometric regulation probe it acts in coherence with the ambient conditions. The ductility of the high pressure lines allows a conformation that can be modified without difficulty.
