With misting we can take over control dust overload.

Different products for different solutions

There is no single univocal dust abatement system as the contexts, volumes and types of dust that must be abated are different. For this reason, dust abatement systems can be of different types and conformations. Below we analyze some practical aspects to guide the choice in a simple way of the various dust abatement systems

Where are they installed?

Dust abatement is often requested on construction sites where earthmoving is carried out, dust abatement in the demolition of buildings, nebulization to reduce dust in inert waste storage sites or resulting products from processing phases in foundries. In closed environments there may be the need to carry out the abatement of fine dust due to processing phases, or of flakes of volatile fibers as in the case of textile factories

Building sites

The useful spaces are of medium and large size. In general, spray cannons are a particularly suitable solution where the distance and the amplitude of action are in the order of a few tens of metres. The very intense nebulised flow and the very high water flow rate. This therefore entails the need to wet the surfaces extensively and continuously, thus allowing the materials to be moved without raising particulate matter. The dust suppression cannon is generally powered by a fixed water mains and requires very high flow rates and a high power electrical supply. Sometimes water jets similar to hydrants but with greater horizontal dispersion can also be used, as an alternative to the more expensive dust suppression cannons. In smaller areas, such as in the demolition of partition walls or parts of internal walls, systems with misting fans with misting nozzles can be used. Their function is not to wet excessively by producing waste water, but to produce such humidity that the dust weighed down by humidity remains on the ground without spreading excessively

Aggregate and semi-finished products storage sites

Other dust suppressors are required in industrial warehouses where large quantities of waste or resulting products from processing phases are stored and handled, such as occurs, for example, in steel mills and aluminum foundries. In these situations it is possible to operate in a limited and concentrated way with static nebulization lines, or with nebulizing fans. This as long as it is necessary to moisten without producing waste water that can reach the groundwater.

Misting dust suppression

If, on the other hand, the need is such that the dustiness of the site is very high or the dust dangerous for inhalation, the nebulizer cannon becomes useful again. It is useful to keep in mind that while the flow rate of high pressure systems with nozzles and fans has values between 5-15 liters per minute, in the case of spray cannons, flow rates can be reached in the order of 50-60-100 liters per minute. minute and power of various horses

Dustiness in interiors from industrial processes

Misting dust suppression

Dust abatement systems sometimes simply have to reduce the electrostatic charges that excessively facilitate the movement of dust between different departments. An example comes from the textile sector, where the processing of yarns creates a high suspension of fiber particles, which spread and settle everywhere. If these are of a different color they can creep into contiguous areas where they affect the quality of the yarns of different colors or fabrics. For this reason, high pressure nebulization can help with this problem

Reducing electrostatic charges therefore, in addition to reducing volatility, facilitating the more rapid fall of the suspensions, also significantly reduces the risk of sparks due to high electrostatic charges in environments where the risk of fire or explosion is high. A similar problem occurs, for example, in flour and cereal processing mills or in the storage of fiber flakes
